1.8 percent of Long Beach City College students played sports on university teams in 2017-2018


In 2017-2018, 1.8 percent of Long Beach City College students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

Long Beach City College has a total student body of 23,845 students, of which 56 percent are women and 44 percent are men. Of these students, 284 men and 143 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 8.7 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at Long Beach City College with the most participants are football (94), soccer (63) and track and field, outdoor (49).
