31 percent of applicants to California State University-Long Beach were admitted for fall 2018


At California State University-Long Beach, 83 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 57 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Long Beach enrolled 37,466 students in fall 2018, including 31,690 in undergraduate and 5,776 in graduate programs, data shows. 13.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

97 percent of undergraduates are residents of California, and 1 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (43 percent) and Asian (22 percent).

The school admitted 31 percent of the 69,610 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 23 percent enrolled.
