Graduates earn 232 degrees, certificates from Holy Names University


About 23.3 percent of the 232 degrees and certificates handed out by Holy Names University in 2017-18 were to students in education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Oakland conferred 27 master's degrees and 27 certificates in education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in nursing administration. Data shows the school gave out 35 master's degrees in nursing administration, followed by 17 bachelor's degrees in general psychology and 15 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management.

The university enrolled 884 students for 2017-18, including 591 in undergraduate programs and 293 in graduate programs.
