Graduates earn 2,993 degrees, certificates from Modesto Junior College


About 24.7 percent of the 2,993 degrees and certificates handed out by Modesto Junior College in 2017-18 were to students in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Modesto conferred 428 certificates and 311 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies. Data shows the school gave out 428 certificates in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies, followed by 323 associate's degrees in biological and physical sciences and 277 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies.

The college enrolled 17,880 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
