Charlotte Russe files Chapter 11; will close 94 stores in U.S., including 11 in California
Charlotte Russe Holdings Corporation, the parent company for women’s clothing retailer Charlotte Russe, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday and announced that it intends to close 11 of its 47 stores in California.
Altogether, the San Francisco-based company said it would be closing 94 stores across the U.S. The company gave no closing dates for the stores.
As part of its filing with the bankruptcy court in Delaware, the retailer said that it has received a commitment from a debtor for financing up to $50 million so that it can continue operating until it sells its remaining assets.
In addition to Charlotte Russe, the company owns children’s clothing retailer, Peek. None of those 11 stores are currently scheduled to close.
